Albir is beautiful! It is a lively tourist resort in summer, with a high population of Scandanavian and UK residents. It is ideal for those who prefer a more leisurely pace of life and enjoy the natural environment.
Albir has a cosmpolitan feel, and a 20 minute stroll from the villa, Que Sera along a tree-lined avenue of flowers and pavement cafes will lead you to the stunning beach.
This breathtaking white pebble beach, consistently awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of the clear water, sits beneath the Sierra Helada (The Frozen Mountains) with the attractive lighthouse marking the end of the bay. View a live webcam of Albir Beach by clicking here.
Along the waterfront, palm-trees line the Paseo de las Estrellas, which is decorated with the names of actors and actresses from the annual July International Film Festival. Albir is known to have one of the best panoramas of the Mediterranean, with the Penon de Ifach and the blue mosaic dome of Altea church both visible in the distance.
The village has a variety of quality supermarkets and eating places, all offering excellent value with the Menu Del Dia, including wine, available for around 15 Euros. Albir boasts a golf range and a cricket pitch, and nearby Alfas Del Pi hosts a sports centre and cultural centre, with regular performances in the Film (July) and Jazz Festival (Oct). |
